What's Next For Zherdev? Ducks Shopping A Few Defenseman

Earlier this week the Philadelphia Flyers added to there deadly offensive forward corpse by adding former Leaf and Hawk Kris Versteeg. In my opinion it was an overpayment to let go a 1st and 3rd round draft pick but the Flyers do receive a skilled player with a cup ring and a young forward that seems to shine in the playoffs. What effect does this have on Zherdev and his future with the Flyers?...A source says he is likely to be put on waivers and will be shopped up until the deadline. It is unlikely a team takes him however, he is too inconsistent and weak in his own zone for a team to take yet another chance on him...the most likely scenario is being sent down to the AHL or being a healthy scratch...likely will bolt to the KHL next season.

The Anaheim Ducks are looking to trade a few defenseman for mid round picks/prospects or possibly a depth forward. Paul Mara and Sheldon Brookbank are getting interest and i believe at least one will be dealt before the deadline. Both players are perfect for teams in need of a depth d-man...teams will not have to give up an arm or a leg for either...also could be a solid backup plan for a team that loses out on a bigger name d-man.
