Is Zach Bogosian Unhappy In Atlanta?

Zach Bogosian has contacted Rick Dudley and the Thrashers organization to let them know he is unhappy and would like a change of scenery...but does this mean he could actually be on the move? The answer is simply...No. The Thrashers are competing for a playoff spot and for a organization thats only been there 1 time in its entirety it is crucial to get in this season...there is nothing gained for Dudley to move the young defenseman...sources say Dudley will be looking to add some players at the deadline and not move key pieces...in the future if Bogosian still is unhappy and decides to hit free agency then Dudley will have no other choice but to move him...for now Thrasher fans he isn't going anywhere.

What's Next For Zherdev? Ducks Shopping A Few Defenseman

Earlier this week the Philadelphia Flyers added to there deadly offensive forward corpse by adding former Leaf and Hawk Kris Versteeg. In my opinion it was an overpayment to let go a 1st and 3rd round draft pick but the Flyers do receive a skilled player with a cup ring and a young forward that seems to shine in the playoffs. What effect does this have on Zherdev and his future with the Flyers?...A source says he is likely to be put on waivers and will be shopped up until the deadline. It is unlikely a team takes him however, he is too inconsistent and weak in his own zone for a team to take yet another chance on him...the most likely scenario is being sent down to the AHL or being a healthy scratch...likely will bolt to the KHL next season.

The Anaheim Ducks are looking to trade a few defenseman for mid round picks/prospects or possibly a depth forward. Paul Mara and Sheldon Brookbank are getting interest and i believe at least one will be dealt before the deadline. Both players are perfect for teams in need of a depth d-man...teams will not have to give up an arm or a leg for either...also could be a solid backup plan for a team that loses out on a bigger name d-man.

Stephen Weiss A Hot Commodity

The Florida Panthers are active and looking to make some moves. Bryan McCabe may be shipped out before the deadline but there is one player the Panthers a receiving tons of interest for....Stephen Weiss. The Boston Bruins could use a center and they have contacted the Panthers regarding Stephen. The Florida Panthers are asking for a ton in exchange for the center which makes me believe any Weiss trade this deadline is unlikely. It will take a team that is very desperate to make a move and that are willing to move early rounds picks/prospects/roster players to even have the Panthers think about any deal involving him.

Rangers Gearing Up To Acquire Defenseman Before Deadline

The Rangers are in search of a offensive d-man and it appears they are inquiring/talking with many NHL teams in trying to accomplish there need. Earlier this season the Rangers were scouting Sheldon Souray in the AHL....the scouting report was not impressive and they opted to not pursue him. Sources tell me Kaberle and McCabe are possibilities, the asking price for both are very high at this time....Leafs asking for high pick and prospect for Kaberle while the Panthers are looking for a depth roster player and mid pick/prospect for McCabe. There price tags may drop closer to the deadline but if they don't the Rangers will NOT pursue either. There are many names being put out there but sources say the Rangers may look at a bigger trade to acquire a d-man with upside if there unable to get a rental for a good price.

Brent Seabrook/Hawks Talking Contract Extension

Any rumours involving Brent Seabrook can be put to rest…well at least for now, the Hawks have begun contract talks with the Olympian. My sources say Brent is seeking nothing less than a 4 year deal with an average salary anywhere between $4-6 million per. This is all i have on this story for now, i hope to get more as it unfolds.

Kings Inching Closer To Trade? Looking For Top Line Forward

I have learned earlier this week that the Kings are in search for a top line forward and have there 1st round pick on the table to obtain the need...Brayden Schenn could be shipped out as-well but the Kings aren't set on moving the youngster. L.A. have called Edmonton in regards to Ales Hemsky, it is still a possibility BUT Steve Tambellini and the Oilers are still unsure whether or not they want to move the sniper...Im going out on a limb and saying Hemsky to the Kings is slim...Sources say the Kings are closer to a lesser move with the Oilers...Ryan Jones...I don't have any knowledge at this time on players that could be involved but it wouldn't take much to pry Jones from the Oil. Whispers yet again have Marian Gaborik possibly shipped out of New York, the Kings will inquire but its also slim that they land him. Dean Lombardi is itching to make a splash, his situation will get more interesting heading up to the trade deadline.
